ACPD Prepares for National Night Out

The Arkansas City Police Department is preparing for the 41st annual National Night Out, a nationwide program sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch to help prevent crime, drug use, and violence.

This year’s activities will begin with the National Night Out Kickoff Party from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, October 6, 2025, at Wilson Park. The event will feature food, activities, and opportunities to meet local law enforcement officers in a family-friendly setting.

Residents are also encouraged to host neighborhood block parties the following evening, Tuesday, October 7, 2025. These gatherings are a chance for neighbors to connect, strengthen community bonds, and show a united front against crime.

To register a block party, residents can email acpd@arkansascityks.gov or call 620-441-6601. The registration deadline is September 26.

“National Night Out is a powerful reminder that our community’s strength lies in the partnership between citizens and law enforcement,” Police Chief Jim Holloway said. “By coming together, we send a strong message that crime, drugs, and violence have no place in Arkansas City.”

At the September 16, 2025, City Commission meeting, Mayor Chad Beeson signed a proclamation officially declaring October 7, 2025, as National Night Out in Arkansas City.
