School Resource Officers
The Arkansas City Police Department has two School Resource Officers. They are assigned to the Middle School and High School.
SRO's are responsible for handling any calls at the school that may come up as well interacting with students and staff on a daily basis.
ACPD SRO’s teach D.A.R.E. to all Elementary 5th graders within USD 470 as well as 2 private elementary schools.
They also teach D.A.R.E. to all 7th grade students.
The School Resource Officers take the lead in other department programs such as National Night Out, D.A.R.E. Camp, The New Years Eve Party, Trunk Or Treat, and other community outreach efforts.
