Failure to Yield Leads to Roundabout Collision

 At approximately 6:20 p.m. on January 15, 2026, Arkansas City Police responded to a two-vehicle collision at the roundabout in the 1200 block of East Kansas Avenue. 

According to a preliminary investigation, a Ford Transit van driven by Kenneth Bowen, of Ponca City, entered the roundabout from the south and failed to yield to a vehicle already traveling inside the roundabout. Bowen’s vehicle struck a passenger vehicle driven by Johnathan Clements, of Arkansas City, causing the van to roll into the center median. 

Bowen was evaluated on scene by Arkansas City Fire/EMS personnel and later transported to South Central Kansas Medical Center with minor injuries. He was subsequently released. No other injuries were reported. 

Bowen was cited for Failure to Yield. 

The Arkansas City Police Department continues to review the incident.
