Vehicle Thefts and Burglaries Reported in Arkansas City

In the early morning hours of Sunday, May 11, 2025, the Arkansas City Police Department began receiving numerous reports of vehicle burglaries and thefts throughout the community. Among the items stolen was a firearm taken from one of the vehicles. Additionally, officers received reports of two vehicles stolen during this same time period.

Preliminary investigations indicate that these incidents occurred between approximately 3:30 a.m. and 5:10 a.m. The first reports originated from the Crestwood area. As the day progressed, further reports were filed from various locations across the city, including:

  • 800 block of North 9th Street
  • 500 block of South 2nd Street
  • 1500 block of North 10th Street
  • 500 block of North 2nd Street

These crimes were not limited to a single neighborhood and appear to have affected multiple areas throughout Arkansas City.

To date, police have taken reports for the following:

  • 7 counts of burglary to motor vehicles
  • 2 counts of stolen motor vehicles
  • 1 count of criminal trespass to a motor vehicle

Both stolen vehicles have since been recovered in Ponca City, Oklahoma.

This remains an active and ongoing investigation. Detectives are currently conducting follow-up interviews and working to identify the individuals responsible.
